The Times reported on the withdrawal of British troops from Afghanistan

A statement from the newspaper said that the British government had decided to withdraw almost all of its troops from Afghanistan.

The statement added that Britain also decided to hand over the administration of the academy where British troops trained Afghan soldiers to the Afghan government.

The Washington Post quoted US officials as saying that US forces were due to withdraw from Afghanistan by the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, which coincide with Wednesday, the 14th April.

However, the Taliban have also stated that they will not attend any peace talks in Afghanistan until foreign troops leave Afghanistan.
