US deploys B-52 bombers for safe exit from Afghanistan in Middle East

The US-based Wall Street Journal reported, citing White House sources, that the United States would send six B-52 bombers and a ground unit of US Special Forces to the Middle East to ensure the safe withdrawal of its and NATO forces from Afghanistan.

John Kirby; Pentagon spokesman has confirmed the deployment of two B-52 bombers, saying the fighters would take action in the event of a threat from the Taliban.

Contrary to the Doha agreement reached between the United States and the Taliban, the 2,500 US troops stationed in Afghanistan are scheduled to leave Afghanistan by September 11 this year.
