The Taliban attacked an outpost in Badakhshan, killing eight soldiers

Local sources in Badakhshan report that 14 soldiers were killed and wounded as a result of a Taliban attack on an army checkpoint in the Warduj district of the province.

Abdullah Naji Nazari; A member of Badakhshan Provincial Council says that last night (May 1) an army checkpoint in Warduj district of the province was attacked by Taliban fighters and as a result the checkpoint fell.

Mr. Nazari added that in this incident, Taliban fighters killed 8 soldiers and wounded 6 others, and also took all the equipment and supplies of this checkpoint.

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid; Taliban spokesman confirmed the incident on Twitter, saying that a number of weapons and ammunition had fallen into the hands of Taliban fighters and an army tank had been destroyed.
