UNICEF: Violence in and around schools is never acceptable

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said in response to yesterday’s bombing in front of the Sayed al-Shuhada girls’ school in Kabul, that violence in and around schools is never acceptable and strongly condemned the incident.

Henrietta Ferro; “Violence in and around schools is never acceptable. Schools should be a haven of peace where children can play, learn and socialize safely,” said UNICEF Executive Director.

“Children should never be the target of violence,” said UNICEF Executive Director.

He called on all parties involved to abide by international human rights and humanitarian law, and to ensure that children and civilians are not harmed.
