Commandos were deployed to clear Maidan Wardak district

The Ministry of Defense announces the deployment of commandos to clear the Maidan Wardak district of Taliban.

Fawad Aman, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, said that new forces had been deployed to clear the Maidan Wardak district of the Taliban.

He added that the district would soon be cleared of the Taliban.

This is while yesterday Tariq Arian; Interior ministry spokesman said security forces had withdrawn tactically from the Maidan Wardak district after heavy fighting with the Taliban. But he did not comment on casualties.
