The Taliban destroyed the entrance bridge to Obe district of Herat

Local sources in Herat report the destruction of a bridge in Obe district of the province.

Sayed Wahid Qetali; The governor of Herat says that Taliban fighters destroyed the entrance bridge to Obe district this morning (Tuesday, May 18) using mines.

Mr Qetali added that the group’s fighters had attacked security forces stationed in the district after destroying the bridge

He added that three Taliban fighters, including a group commander of them were killed in this clashes.

According to Mr. Qetali, clashes between security forces and the Taliban are still ongoing in the district.

Mr. Qetali announced the deployment of reinforcements to the scene.
