The Taliban attacked villages in Chaha Ab district of Takhar province

Sources in Takhar say Taliban fighters have attacked several villages in the Chaha Ab district of the province.

Sources say that fighting between security forces and Taliban fighters started last night in the villages of Chaha Ab district of the province and is still going on.

According to these sources, three villages in the district have fallen to the Taliban, and fighting is ongoing in other parts of the district.

But security sources in Takhar deny the fall of these villages.

Khalil Asir; Takhar police spokesman said that clashes between Local forces and Taliban fighters had taken place in the villages of Izna, Sefkan and Wernkhwah around 5 am today and were still ongoing.

He did not confirm the fall of any village to the Taliban, but said fighting was continuing in those districts and reinforcements had arrived.
