Human Rights Commission: The perpetrators of targeted killings have not been identified and punished

The Human Rights Commission said in a newsletter released today (Tuesday, May 25) that the targeted killings, while killing civilian property, had caused fear and despair. The perpetrators have not been identified and punished, and the government’s response has not been satisfactory.

In its newsletter, the commission blamed the parties to the war and peace (internal and external) for the lives of journalists, civil and human rights activists and civilians.

The commission said it would be impossible to achieve a just and lasting peace without recognizing the victims’ suffering, healing their pain, compensating them for their suffering and hearing their voices.

The commission said the killings must be stopped and the perpetrators identified and punished, and justice must be done for the victims and survivors.
