Abdul Sabur Qaneh was appointed governor of Herat

The Independent Directorate of Local Governance says Abdul Sabur Qaneh has been appointed governor of Herat province.

A statement from the department said that Abdul Sabur Ghaneh had been appointed governor of Herat province on the recommendation of the Independent Directorate of Local Governance and Decree No. 920.

Prior to this, Seyyed Vahid Ghatali served as the governor of Herat.

Mr. Qatali has previously served as Chairman of the Herat Provincial Council, Mayor of Herat, Head of the Presidential Palace’s Office, and Deputy Chairman of the National Security Council of Afghanistan.
