Sancharak district of Sar-e-pol fell to the Taliban

Local sources in Sar-e-Pul report that the Sancharak district of the province has fallen to the Taliban.

Hossein Mojahedzadeh; A member of Sar-e-Pul provincial council said that the Sancharak district of Sar-e-Pul province fell to the Taliban yesterday evening and security forces retreated towards Shabokan village.

Earlier, Asadullah Khorram, a member of the Sar-i-Pul provincial council, said that about 70 percent of the district was under siege by Taliban fighters and that the district would fall to the group’s fighters if no reinforcements arrived.
