Uruzgan-e-Khas district fell to the Taliban

Local sources in Uruzgan say that the Uruzgan-e-Khas district of the province has fallen to Taliban fighters.

Bismillah Jan Muhammadi, an Uruzgan MP, said that Taliban fighters had seized the district building and the Uruzgan-e-Khas district police headquarters last night.

Mr Mohammadi added that the villages around the district had previously been under the control of Taliban fighters.

Meanwhile, two districts of Sar-e-Pul province were captured by Taliban fighters yesterday.
