The Taliban targeted an army helicopter in Ghazni

Local sources in Ghazni say Taliban fighters have targeted a helicopter at the provincial army brigade headquarters.

Amanullah Kamrani, deputy head of the Ghazni provincial council, said the helicopter was targeted by Taliban fighters with rocket after the landing.

Mr Kamrani added that the helicopter had carried a number of security officials from Kabul to Ghazni and had been targeted hours after the landing.

According to him, no one was injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, the Taliban have issued a statement claiming that they have targeted the helicopter in the Yunt area of DehYak district of Ghazni province.
