Shurtipa district fell to the Taliban

Sources in Balkh report that the Shurtipa district of the province has fallen to Taliban fighters.

The source said that after three days of fierce fighting between security forces and Taliban fighters, the district building and the Shurtipa police headquarters in Balkh province fell to the Taliban fighters.

The source, who did not want to be named, added that the district had fallen after three days of fighting and after the withdrawal of security forces under command of Atta Mohammad Noor.

According to him, three security forces were killed and six others were wounded as a result of the clashes and the explosion of mines planted by Taliban fighters.

Meanwhile, in the last few days, as a result of the intensification of attacks by Taliban fighters on the districts of Balkh province, most of the residents of this province have mobilized against the Taliban.
