The Taliban recaptured Kaldar district of Balkh province

Local sources in Balkh report that the Kaldar district of the province has fallen again to Taliban fighters.

Mohammad Afzal Hadid, head of the Balkh Provincial Council, said that Taliban fighters had attacked the district yesterday evening and captured the center and other parts of the district.

Mr Hadid added that two soldiers had been wounded in clashes in the district.

This is the second time that Taliban fighters have taken over Kaldar district.

According to the Ministry of National Defense, the district was cleared of Taliban fighters yesterday.
