Fall of Panjwai district of Kandahar to the Taliban

Sources in Kandahar say the Panjwai district of the province has fallen to Taliban fighters.

The source, who did not want to be named, said Taliban fighters had taken control of Kandahar’s Panjwai district last night after heavy fighting with security forces.

But security officials have not yet confirmed the fall of the district.
