The Taliban have captured the Sighan district of Bamyan province

Sources in Bamyan province say Taliban fighters have taken control of Sighan district.

A member of Bamyan Provincial Council says the district was captured by Taliban fighters around midnight last night and forces stationed in the district have also retreated.

The provincial council member added that a large amount of security forces’ equipment in the district had also fallen into the hands of Taliban fighters.

Security sources have not yet officially confirmed the fall of the district.
