The Taliban have taken control of Najrab district in Kapisa province

Sources in Kapisa report the fall of Nijrab district in the province to Taliban fighters.

A member of the Kapisa provincial council says the Nijrab district of the province fell last night after several days of siege and clashes between security forces and Taliban fighters.

The provincial council member did not comment on casualties of security forces but said Taliban fighters had been killed in the clashes.

He added that army forces were working to re-liberate the district from the Taliban.
