Kaldar district of Balkh was liberated from Taliban control

The Ministry of Defense says that Kaldar district of Balkh province has been liberated from the control of Taliban fighters.

Spokesman for the ministry, Fawad Aman, said that about 20 Taliban fighters had been killed and dozens wounded in operations by the defense and security forces and the popular mobilization in Kaldar district today, and that they had fled the district.

Mr. Aman added that the clean-up and offensive operations of the defense, security and popular mobilization forces are continuing and the security forces are advancing.
