189 Taliban have been killed in five provinces

The Ministry of National Defense reports that 189 Taliban insurgents have been killed in five provinces in the past 24 hours.

The ministry said in a statement that 189 Taliban insurgents were killed and 138 others were wounded in clashes and counter-attacks by defense and security forces.

The Taliban were killed and wounded in Kandahar, Zabul, Herat, Jawzjan and Helmand provinces, according to a ministry newsletter.

According to the ministry, 23 mines were also discovered and defused by the security and defense forces during the clashes, and some of the group’s weapons and ammunition were destroyed.
