President Ghani condemned yesterday’s attack on Kabul’s Shirpur area

The Presidential Palace has issued a statement saying that President Ghani condemned yesterday’s attack on Kabul’s Shirpur area.

The Taliban killed and wounded a number of our compatriots in a terrorist attack in the Shirpur area of Kabul yesterday evening in order to silence the voice of our compatriots, the Citadel said in a statement.

According to a statement issued by President Ghani, while strongly condemning the terrorist attack, he said that the Taliban war is sedition and corruption and that according to divine guidance, it is necessary to stand up against seditionists and corrupters.

According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, armed assailants first attacked the house of Bismillah Mohammadi, the head of the Ministry of Defense, in the Shirpur area of Kabul yesterday, using a car bomb, and then clashed with security forces.

A spokesman for the Interior Ministry added that five people were killed and about 25 others, most of them civilians, were wounded in the attack.
