In the last 24 hours, 572 Taliban fighters were killed

The Ministry of Defense says 572 Taliban fighters have been killed in 18 provinces in the past 24 hours.

The ministry said in a statement that the Taliban fighters had been killed in clashes and counter-attacks by defense and security forces.

The ministry added that 309 fighters of the group were also wounded during the clashes.

According to the ministry, Taliban fighters were killed and wounded in Nangarhar, Laghman, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Herat, Farah, Jawzjan, Sar-e Pol, Faryab, Helmand, Nimroz, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan and Kapisa provinces.
