The commandos launched a clearing operation in Kunduz

The Special Operations Command announced the beginning of a clearing operation by the commandos in Kunduz province.

During their clearing operation, the commandos cleared the crossroads of General Abdul Raziq and the headquarters of the National Radio and Television in the center of Kunduz city from the Taliban, the statement said.

The statement added the clean-up operation was ongoing in the city.

Parts of Kunduz city have been captured by Taliban fighters this morning.

According to some sources, Taliban fighters have also captured the central prison of the province and released all prisoners.

Meanwhile, videos circulating on social media show that fighting between security forces and the Taliban in the city of Kunduz has led to widespread fires in homes and shops.
