The capital of Badakhshan province fell to the Taliban

Sources in Badakhshan report the fall of the provincial capital of Badakhshan to the Taliban.

A member of the Badakhshan provincial council confirmed the fall of the provincial capital to the Taliban and said that the provincial capital had fallen to the Taliban lastnight as a result of a massive attack by Taliban fighters on the province from several directions.

The Badakhshan provincial council member added that local officials in the province had gone to Farkhar.

Meanwhile, Taliban fighters have launched attacks on city centers, which have so far taken control of nine provincial capitals.
