Karan and Manjan districts of Badakhshan were handed over to the Taliban

Sources in Badakhshan report the complete fall of the province to the Taliban.

The sources say that the Karan and Manjan districts, the only two districts so far under the control of security forces, have been handed over to the Taliban without any clashes.

The sources added that the districts had been handed over to the Taliban as a result of a deal, and that police forces and popular uprisings based there had retreated.

According to them, all parts of Badakhshan province are now under the control of the Taliban.
