The capital of Maidan Wardak province fell to the Taliban

Sources in Maidan Wardak say the provincial capital of this province has fallen to the Taliban.

According to these sources in Maidan Shahr, the capital of Maidan Wardak province fell to the Taliban before noon today and all the forces stationed in it retreated.

The source added that heavy fighting between security forces and Taliban fighters has been going on in the center of the province for the past two days.

The source added that the fall of the city was the result of a deal between the officials of this province and the Taliban.

The Taliban also captured the centers of five provinces last night.

The Taliban now control the centers of 27 provinces in Afghanistan.
