US: ISIS is present in Afghanistan

The US Department of Defense announced the presence of ISIS and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said al-Qaeda and ISIS fighters were in Afghanistan but that their numbers were small and did not pose a serious threat to the United States.

“We know that al-Qaeda is present in Afghanistan like ISIS. But we do not believe that there are too many of them, we do not have exact figures,” he said.

The Taliban, considered a terrorist group by the United States, seized control of all Afghanistan last week except Panjshir.
