US planes have flown 1,700 passengers out of Kabul in 12 hours

White House officials said yesterday that US planes had flown 1,700 passengers out of Kabul airport outside Afghanistan in 12 hours.

The White House statement said that about 3,400 passengers were transported out of Kabul airport by 39 coalition planes during this period.

About 30,300 people have been evacuated from Kabul between August 14 and August 22, and a total of about 35,500 foreign nationals and their Afghan counterparts have been evacuated by military flights since the end of July, officials said.

Meanwhile, according to reports, there are still many people at Kabul airport to go abroad, and the situation at the airport has been described as challenging.
