UNICEF: Children in Afghanistan are in a difficult situation

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said in a statement that children in Afghanistan are in dire straits and need humanitarian assistance to survive.
Nearly 10 million children in Afghanistan need humanitarian assistance to access adequate food, the organization said in a statement.
The statement added that about one million more children in the country are suffering from malnutrition.
The statement also referred to girls’ access to education, saying that 2.2 million girls, including 4.2 million children, were deprived of education.
UNICEF says children and women are at greater risk due to insecurity, drought and the Corona crisis in Afghanistan, and need more humanitarian assistance.
