Shah Mahmoud Qureshi: We hope that an inclusive government will be established in Afghanistan

Pakistan has expressed hope that an inclusive government will be established in Afghanistan after the Taliban take control of Afghanistan.

“We hope there will be no gap in the formation of the government,” Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told his German counterpart Heiko Moss at a news conference in Islamabad.

“If I remember correctly, the Taliban said they would announce the government after the withdrawal of foreign troops, and I think in the coming days we will see a new government in Afghanistan,” he added.

“Soon the Taliban will introduce a new government, the Taliban have promised, but in the coming days and weeks we will see if we can count on it,” German Foreign Minister Haigo Moss told the meeting. “The Taliban want to form a new government, and that shows us whether our demand for inclusiveness has been met.”

Haigo Moss also said he was waiting to see if the Taliban would keep their promises.
