Mevlut Cavusoglu: We are not in a hurry to recognize the Taliban

The Turkish Foreign Minister has said that the country will not rush to recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoglu told the media that Turkey would not rush to recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan.
“We do not make hasty decisions,” he said. “A government must be created that can cope with this crisis and prevent a civil war.”
According to Çavuşoglu, in order for the Taliban to be recognized for establishing a government, it must ensure that all political forces and sections of the population, especially women, are included.
He added: “Among the members of the Afghan government who have been introduced to the world, only the representatives of the Taliban. We do not intend to form a government for them, but we convey our thoughts directly to the Taliban. “We are examining the situation and acting on it, while we do not have a clear position on this.”
