National Environmental Protection Agency: Deforestation in Nuristan must be prevented

Continued National Environmental Protection has called on local authorities in Nuristan to prevent the felling of trees in the province.
The agency said in a statement that recently in Nuristan province, Afghanistan’s third national park, forest trees were being cut down very brutally using chainsaws.
The agency said it should prevent as soon as possible.
The agency also said that forests are among the public assets and have a major role in cleaning the country, preventing floods and the beauty of the city, and that all citizens should participate in its maintenance and inform the authorities.
Earlier, there were reports that trees in Afghanistan had been cut down and their timber taken to Pakistan.
