Soheil Shahin: Twenty years ago, the Taliban offered to cooperate in the investigation into the 9/11 attacks

Taliban spokesman Sohail Shaheen in Qatar said the group had offered to cooperate in the investigation into the 9/11 attacks 20 years ago.
“I remember we condemned this incident,” Shaheen told a Pakistani television channel. Abdul Salam Zarif was our ambassador to Pakistan and I was his deputy. We held a press conference and condemned the incident. “We said we would work together to identify the real culprits behind the scenes.”
He added that al-Qaeda is a terrorist group that did not warn of 9/11 attacks to Afghanistan at the time, so the Taliban, who ruled the country at the time, were taken by surprise.
Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks carried out by al-Qaeda in the United States.
