The Qatari foreign minister met with Taliban officials in Kabul

Taliban spokesman Mohammad Naeem Wardak tweeted that Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani met with Taliban leader Mohammad Hassan Akhund in Kabul yesterday.
Wardak added that Amir Khan Mottaqi, Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid and Sirajuddin Haqqani were present at the meeting.
According to him, during the meeting, the two sides discussed humanitarian aid, the future of Afghanistan’s economic development and the interaction of the international community with the Islamic Emirate.
The Qatari foreign minister is also said to have met yesterday with former President Hamid Karzai and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council.
The Qatari foreign minister arrived in the Afghan capital, Kabul, on an unannounced visit yesterday.
