Salima Mazari, who was reportedly captured by the Taliban, has gone to the United States

The BBC quoted Time magazine as saying that Salima Mazari, the district governor of Chaharkent district in Balkh province, has gone to the United States under the previous government.

On the eve of the fall of Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, Salima Mazari was in the office of Farhad Azimi, the former governor of Balkh province, Time magazine reported.

Salima Mazari told Time magazine that she had gone to Hairatan with the convoy of Marshal Dostum, Atta Mohammad Noor and Farhad Azimi, but that many had not been allowed to enter Uzbekistan.

He added that he later spent two days in the house of a relative in Hiran and later went to Kabul secretly wearing a burqa.

He said that the Taliban could not identified him and that he has gone to the United States.

Earlier, it was reported that Salima Mazari had been captured by the Taliban.
