Taliban member: We are reviving the punishment of our previous government

A Taliban member was quoted by the Associated Press as saying that the strict rules of the group’s previous government were being revived.
“We were all criticized for the punishments at the Kabul Sports Stadium, but we “We have never said anything about their laws and punishments. No one can tell us what our laws should be like. We will follow Islam and make our own laws from the Qur’an.”
Under the previous Taliban government, the world condemned the group’s punishments, which took place at the Kabul Sports Stadium or in the large compound of the Eid Gah Mosque, which was often attended by hundreds of Afghan men.
At that time, the execution of convicted murderers was usually carried out by shooting him in the head, they also had the option to accept the “ransom” and allow to survive. For those convicted of robbery, the punishment was amputation, and those who robbed from the highway were amputated thair one leg and one arm.
According to Torabi, this time judges, including women, will hear cases, but the basis of Afghan law is the Qur’an, and the same punishments will be revived.
