The United States condemned the resumption of the death penalty and amputation by the Taliban

US State Department spokesman Ned Price said yesterday in response to the resumption of the Punishments in first term of the Taliban regime in the current government of the group that the United States condemns the death penalty and amputation of limbs by the Taliban.

“We strongly condemn the resumption of amputation and execution of Afghans,” he said. Such actions by the Taliban are a gross violation of human rights. “We are determined to bring the perpetrators of such violations to justice.”

Meanwhile, Mullah Nooruddin Torabi, the head of the Taliban regime’s prison administration, told the Associated Press on Thursday night that executions and amputations were being revived in accordance with Islamic law.

“We were all criticized for being punished in stadiums, but we never said anything about their rules and punishments,” he said.
