Proposing a bill to the US Congress that would prevent the recognition of the Taliban

According to VOA, a number of members of the US House of Representatives have proposed to the US Congress a bill according to which the Taliban government will not be recognized by the US.

John Kurtz, a Republican in the US House of Representatives, told VOA the reason for this bill is the Taliban coup. “It deprives them of sitting next to world leaders.”

He also expressed concern about the human rights situation in Afghanistan, saying that Afghans, especially women, were in a precarious situation and that the United States was concerned about the loss of 20 years of achievements of women and other citizens.
