Taliban to world: Give us 20 months and then judge

The acting head of the Taliban’s economy ministry has asked the international community for 20 months and said he would then judge the group’s actions.

“Let the world give us 20 months and then judge whether we have succeeded or not,” enamuddin Samangani, a member of the Taliban leadership commission, tweeted from Qari Deen Mohammad Hanif, acting head of the Taliban interim economy ministry. No.”

He added that the international community supported the previous government for 20 years. We do not want the world to help us, we just want it to give us a chance before judging us.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, meanwhile, has repeatedly called on the international community to recognize the group’s rule.
