The Taliban reacted to announcements banning shaving Beard

The Taliban have said that leaflets circulating in Kapisa, Helmand and Takhar provinces banning shaving and haircuts are not the official views of their government.

Letters have already been circulated in the provinces banning men from shaving Beard, like British, American and French models, and also saying that women are not allowed to carry smart phones.

But the Taliban have said the letters are not the official position of the current government.

Inamullah Samangani, a member of the cultural commission of the Taliban Ministry of Information and Culture, said: “It is not from the official address of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.”

Meanwhile, Sayed Ishaq Gilani, the leader of the Afghan National Solidarity Movement, said: “This harms the Islamic Emirate. “It makes the world more nervous and makes it impossible to know the emirate.”
