Gen. Mark Millie: The Taliban are a terrorist group and they remain a terrorist organization

The chief of staff of the US military has described the Taliban as a terrorist group and said that the group remained a terrorist organization.

According to the ISNA news agency, Gen. Mark Millie, Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Army in the US Senate, said that in the next 12 to 36 months, it will be much more difficult to protect the American people from terrorist attacks in Afghanistan.

“We need to know that the Taliban was and still is a terrorist organization and has not yet severed ties with al-Qaeda,” he said. “We must work to protect the United States and its people from any terrorist attack that may occur in Afghanistan.”

According to him, the Taliban are unable to keep Afghanistan united and prevent a civil war.
