Danish Foreign Minister: We do not recognize the Taliban

The Danish foreign minister has expressed concern about the situation in Afghanistan, saying his country does not recognize the Taliban government.

During a two-day visit to Pakistan, Danish Foreign Minister Jeep Kofood told a news conference with his Pakistani counterpart that Afghanistan should be prevented from becoming a safe haven for terrorists.

“We will not recognize the Taliban government,” he said. “What we are seeing in Afghanistan today is a very serious situation and we are concerned about the situation in Afghanistan.”

He called on all countries to prevent Afghanistan from becoming a stronghold and safe haven for terrorists.
