Acting Taliban Minister of Education: The government has no will to oppose the girls’ education

The acting head of the Taliban government’s education ministry has said that Islamic law does not oppose educating women.

According to Al-Jazeera, Sheikh Noorullah Munir, the head of the Taliban government’s Ministry of Education, said in an interview with the network that just as Islamic law does not oppose the education of women, our government has no will to oppose the education of girls.

“According to Islamic law, we try to make all women equal in the field of education, but we will never use Western law,” he said.

Munir added that students’ clothes should be in accordance with Afghan law and culture, but no clothes are mandatory for them.
