Iran is worried about the return of extremism to Afghanistan

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has expressed concern about the return of extremism to Afghanistan.

According to Mehr News Agency, Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a press conference yesterday that the future of Afghanistan must be based on the will of the people of this country and said that the most important issue is the establishment of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.

But whether Iran recognizes the Taliban government? He said it was too early to talk about recognizing the Taliban at this time.

He added: “We are concerned about the situation in Afghanistan; “History has shown that if there is no strong and inclusive government in Afghanistan, there is a high probability that extremism will return to this country.”

The Taliban have said the current government is provisional and will include other ethnic groups in the future government.
