The United States has condemned yesterday’s attack on a Shiite mosque in Kunduz
The United States has condemned a deadly suicide attack on a Shi’ite mosque in Kunduz province.
State Department spokesman Ned Price issued a statement condemning the attack hours after the attack, expressing sympathy with the families of the victims and saying that the Afghan people deserve a future free of terror.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in a Shi’ite mosque in the Khan Abad district of Kunduz province, killing at least 60 people and wounding about 150 others.
The Khorasan branch of the ISIS terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
However, this is the deadliest attack by the ISIS terrorist group since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.
However, the group has previously carried out several attacks against Taliban members in some provinces of the country, resulting in casualties for the Taliban.
