Turkey condemns terrorist attack on Shiite mosque in Kandahar

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a statement condemning yesterday’s attack on a Shiite mosque in the city of Kandahar.
“We are deeply saddened to learn that many people were killed and many others were injured in a terrorist attack on Friday prayers at a mosque in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province,” the ministry said in a statement.
“We strongly condemn these inhumane terrorist attacks that have recently targeted mosques in Afghanistan,” the ministry added.
The terrorist attack took place yesterday at the Imam Bargah Fatemieh Mosque in Kandahar city, which reportedly killed at least 40 worshipers and injured dozens more.
However, the Khorasan branch of the ISIS terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
This is the second terrorist attack by ISIS on Shiite mosques.
Last Friday, a Shiite mosque in central Kunduz province was attacked by the group, killing at least 200 people and wounding others.
