Three people were arrested by the Taliban in connection with the destruction of a power tower in Kabul

The Taliban Interior Ministry has announced the arrest of three people in connection with the explosion of an imported electricity tower in Kabul.

Taliban Interior Ministry spokesman Saeed Khosti said Islamic Emirate forces had arrested the three men from the Shakardar district of Kabul.

He added that investigations into the detainees were ongoing and that details would be shared with the media.

The Afghan Electricity Company (Breshna) announced on Thursday that an import of a 220 kW power line in the Qala-e-Murad Beyk area of Kabul had been cut off as a result of an explosion.

The ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for the incident by posting a statement on its Telegram page.

According to the group’s statement, one of the imported electricity pylons in Qala-e-Morad Beyk area of Kabul was blown up by members of the group on Thursday, as a result of which the electricity supply to Kabul and other neighboring provinces was cut off.

This is not the first time that imported electricity pylons have been blown up in Kabul and neighboring provinces.

The towers have been cut off several times by unknown individuals, sometimes as a result of clashes between the Taliban and former government forces.
