UNAMA stressed the need to establish a comprehensive government in Afghanistan and to uphold the rights of all Afghans

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) wrote on its Facebook page that Dabira Lines, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, met with high-ranking Taliban representatives Amir Khan Mottaqi and Abdul Salam Hanafi at the State Department and Hedayatullah Badri at the ministry. Malia spoke about the deepening economic and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, as well as human rights concerns.
The UN envoy stressed that all institutions must do everything possible to prevent economic collapse and that there is a need for an inclusive government and the protection of the rights of all Afghans, men and women.
UNAMA added that the United Nations continues to provide vital assistance to Afghanistan.
Earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres tweeted that the organization continues to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and supports the rights of girls and women in the country.
