Unknown people killed a religious scholar in Nangarhar

Sources in Nangarhar report that a cleric was killed in Behsud district of the province by unknown gunmen.

According to them, this religious scholar was named Saeedullah Soheil and was the Imam of Maqam Khan Grand Mosque in Behsud district.

The sources add that the cleric was shot dead by gunmen before noon today.

However, Taliban officials in Nangarhar confirmed the incident and said an investigation was under way.

Meanwhile, a Taliban vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb this morning in Qasemabad, Jalalabad, the provincial capital, killing a Taliban and a civilian, according to health officials.

No one or group has claimed responsibility for the two incidents.
