ISIL attack on Kabul hospital leaves 15 dead

Hours ago, two explosions took place in the tenth security area near the 400-bed Mohammad Daud Khan Hospital.

At least 15 people were killed and at least 34 others were injured in the blasts, Taliban sources said, according to Reuters.

However, the Bakhtar state news agency blamed ISIS for the blasts and reported that one of the group blew himself up at the entrance to the hospital, prompting several others to enter the hospital and clash with Taliban forces.

Bilal Karimi, the Taliban’s deputy spokesman, also confirmed the incident, saying the first blast occurred at the entrance to the hospital and the second blast took place near it.

Taliban special forces are said to have been sent to the area.

The ISIS group has not yet commented on the incident.
