The United States has evacuated 140 Afghan Army pilots and crew from Tajikistan

The United States yesterday evacuated more than 140 Afghan Army pilots and crew from Tajik prisons.

According to Tajik media, most of the army pilots have taken refuge in Tajikistan since the fall of the previous Afghan government.

However, the US Embassy in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, announced yesterday that it intends to transfer 191 Afghans living in Tajikistan, including Afghan pilots, to a third country and from there to the United States.

Among the pilots to be flown to the United States are two pregnant female pilots under Tajik medical supervision.
